Gerotor Pumps

High-Speed Operation, Constant & Even Discharge Regardless of Pressure.

A Gerotor is a positive displacement pump consisting of an inner and outer rotor. The outer rotor has one more tooth than the inner rotor and has its centerline positioned at a fixed eccentricity from the centerline of the inner rotor and shaft. Gerotor pumps are internal gear pumps without the crescent. The rotor is the internal (drive) gear, and the idler is the external (driven) gear.

As the rotors rotate about their respective axes, fluid is drawn into the enlarged chamber to a maximum volume. As the rotation continues, the chamber volume decreases, forcing fluid out of the chamber. This process occurs constantly in each chamber, providing a smooth pumping action.

This type of pump is primarily used in clean, low-pressure applications such as lubrication systems or hot oil filtration systems. They can also be found in a low to moderate pressure hydraulic application.
