Breathers
Filtering the Air. Breathers Prevent Ambient Air from Entering the Reservoir Unless it has been Filtered.
The function of the filler-breather is to clean any air that enters the reservoir as the fluid level drops from normal system cycling. It is imperative that good filtration is provided to clean the incoming air.
Open-circuit hydraulic systems need breathers, so air can exit and enter the reservoir as the fluid level rises and falls.
In addition to removing airborne dirt, some types of breathers are designed to remove the moisture from the incoming air.

Air Breathers
Essential for keeping hydraulic reservoirs clean, air breathers filter out harmful particles and microorganisms before air enters, preventing damage to hydraulic components.

Desiccant Breathers
Desiccant breathers use filters to trap particles and desiccants to absorb moisture, protecting heavy equipment hydraulics from contaminants and water in harsh environments.

Filler Breathers
Prevent contamination and water from the surrounding from entering into the system.
