Consolidated Hydraulics Create Reliable Solutions
“The machine is able to accurately adjust the amount of force that needed for stability, while simultaneously performing the application specific functions.”
Robust hydraulics are still necessary for total machine power. But a machine using multiple complex manifolds or valving systems can lead to more maintenance and more opportunities for machine issues. Designing efficient hydraulic systems that support most or all of your primary machine functions within one or two stackable manifolds will create a simplified, much more reliable solution.
In this video, one of our engineering team leads discusses a complex manifold solution we designed for a machine in the rail industry that primarily moves railcars around a yard. Consolidating the manifolds created a more reliable solution because all the machine’s functions now flow through a single point of control. It also allows operators to work faster and more efficiently because this single manifold utilizes priority valves and can perform multiple functions at once. Furthermore, it also has an emergency backup system that involves accumulators on the machine that are charged as the machine is operating normally. If the machine were to lose power, that feature provides for enough stored power to get the machine off the rails safely.
