IQAN University: PWM vs. Current Outputs
There are many steps to take when designing your program within IQAN Design. In this video, we look PWM outputs and current outputs, the circumstances in which each should be used, and important properties to set for each type.
Current outputs utilize voltages and give the same response regardless of how resistance changes over the course of time. These outputs should be reserved for those functions that pertain to critical motion control, like the boom of a crane, where precision is vital. PWM outputs, on the other hand use a percentage of a component’s modulation ratio, or duty cycle, and should be used when a function can work within a range, rather than a precise movement.
In our IQAN University video series, we look at this topic and provide targeted skills training for your team to familiarize them with exactly what they need to know quickly. If you’re looking for more comprehensive training, you can sign up for one of our in person training sessions.
