Unlocking Precision: Get to Know Parker’s VA Series Valves
The Parker Hannifin VA series valves offer OEMs versatile hydraulic solutions with sizes VA130, VA300, and VA450 for flows up to 120 GPM and pressures to 5300 PSI. These pre-compensated sectional valves support load sense or open center setups across 11-12 sections per machine function. GS Global Resources excels as a partner by leveraging deep product familiarity to customize these systems for heavy-duty applications. In the video above, one of our Engineering Team Leads, Luke Richardson, talks through some of the key features of the valves and how our team can seamlessly integrate this product to improve machine control and power for OEMs.
Get to Know the VA Series
“On one machine, you can control and have great stability from one gallon up to 120 gallons, all in one valve.”
Parker VA valves come in three models: VA130 (35 GPM work section flow), VA300 (60 GPM), and VA450 (120 GPM), enabling stable control from 1 to 120 GPM on a single valve. Their sections can bolt directly together for VA300/450 models using the same pattern, however the VA130 does require an adapter plate due to its compact profile. Maximum pressures reach 5300 PSI across all sizes, an upgrade from prior Parker designs.
Key Features and Configurability
“They’ve done a good job of taking little features from previous valves and packaging them into this valves series, so they’re extremely configurable.”
Our engineers can configure each section individually, adjusting pressures, feed reducers for load sensing, and options for open/closed center systems. New features include electro-proportional load sensing limiting per section for ramped pressure control and integrated float function on the last section to route ports to tank for contour-following. The VA series valves combine many features from Parker’s previous valves, making them highly adaptable for any technical specification or application requirement.
Real-World Applications
“These are very robust, high use valve that are great for any application where controllability is really critical, like forestry or cranes.”
According to Richardson, the VA valves are great options in demanding industries like forestry, cranes, and forklifts. Their robustness handles harsh conditions where controllability is critical, from lifting to high-wear environments. Custom manifolds can also bolt between sections for functions like fixed 10 GPM on/off, reducing hoses and plumbing complexity.
Why GS Global Resources?
“We’re a great resource, mainly because we’ve seen so many different applications. We’re designing integrated manifolds that build up these valves every single day, so that’s where we come into play.
GS Global Resources stands out with extensive experience across applications, guiding OEMs on optimal VA valve use. Teams design integrated manifolds daily, simplifying assembly, cutting labor, easing troubleshooting, and cleaning up machine plumbing versus traditional multi-valve setups. This expertise turns VA valves into tailored, efficient solutions for OEM needs.
