Improving Deployment Efficiency with Machine Options
Within a machine line, you may have a number of features that are used in one or a few machines, but not all of them, such as additional functions or electronic controls. Rather than create completely separate programs for each, within IQAN Design by Parker Hannifin, you are able to designate machine options that can be enabled or disabled depending on the machine configuration. For example, if you have a joystick that will be integrated into one machine, but it will not be in a smaller model of that machine, you can simply turn that option on and off. Doing that has numerous trickle down effects that will automatically be reflected afterwards. On the display pages, for example, you can use a translation to remove a group of images related to that function from a page and then shift the other images to avoid having awkward empty space.
