Designing an Optional Operator Cab for Heavy Equipment
“The cab can be added to any operator station, even those already in the field. It’s an improved, turn-key package for the machine, with or without a cab.”
The ability to offer customizations and options to heavy equipment end users is invaluable in the current economic climate. For example, as discussed in the video below, a certain application may not require a full operator cab but could be beneficial depending on where it will be used. If a certain end-user primarily operates in colder climates, or in an area where dust and other debris are a major concern, they may be willing to incur a higher machine cost. But that diversification in a product line requires strong branding consistency, as well as a central operator station that is set up for those add-ons.
In the video below, one of our account managers discusses how we modernized an operator station for a road maintenance OEM, with newer and more ergonomic controls, while simultaneously utilizing our partnership with ADC Equipment Innovations to offer a drop-on cab option that can even be offered to machines already deployed in the field.
